Lea Nikki Bacharach, after being born prematurely in 1966, spent the first three months of her life in an incubator.

Her parents had observed her as a child staring off into the distance or at trees. Lea Nikki Bacharach also wasn’t able to speak until she was three. Nevertheless, she was a standout in school in extracurricular activities like gymnastics.

Nikki was later given an Aspergers diagnosis. Her father, who won Oscars for writing Raindrops Keep Fallin’ On My Head and Arthur’s Theme also wrote a song about his daughter named Nikki in 1969 as the severity of her illness began to become apparent.

Nikki studied geology at Cal Lutheran University. With the assistance of her father, she was able to finish the degree.
