A well-known South Bank bouncer and the former boxer were Lee Duffy. He had already survived three alleged attempts on his life before his violent death in 1991. During a street fight in Middlesbrough’s Marton Road, Lee Duffy was fatally stabbed. Lee Duffy was 26. The former boxer and bouncer was shot twice and once had gasoline poured over him. But at the age of just 26, Duffy’s life was violently cut short in August 1991 when he was stabbed in a vicious street brawl in Middlesbrough’s Marton Road.
Duffy lost his life at the hands of a man he had once considered a friend. At a blues gathering held at the Afro Caribbean Center, David Allison and Duffy had verbally sparred. Witnesses claimed that Duffy’s orders to move everyone out of his path “poisoned the atmosphere” at the event. A large crowd had gathered in the parking lot to watch Allison and bare-chested amateur boxer Duffy spar.
