CHICAGO (CelebrityAccess) – Chicago nice and WVON-am disc jockey Pervis Spann, who helped deliver black radio to the forefront, died Monday at 89 at his South Facet Chicago residence from issues of Alzheimer’s Illness, as reported by the Chicago Solar-Instances.

Spann’s melodious voice over the radio helped numerous followers, employees, and school college students get by means of late nights by turning on their radio. The native of Itta Bena, Mississippi, “went in a short time from being a sharecropper to a shareholder,” stated his daughter Melody Spann Cooper, chair and chief govt officer of Halfway Broadcasting Company, which owns WVON.
