Hope’s career started in 2017, but it wasn’t until February 2018, at the age of nine, that she became known. She first gained fame by uploading photographs of herself in posh cars and fashionable clothing on social media platforms like Instagram.

She started uploading rap videos on YouTube, where they attracted millions of views. When YouTuber RiceGum made a video criticizing Hope, her popularity skyrocketed.

Hope left Vancouver, British Columbia, where she had grown up, and started homeschooling in Los Angeles, California, as her fame grew.

She relocated with her mother, Angela Tian, and her 16-year-old brother to live with Los Angeles resident Josiah Jenkins, who was named a “miracle worker” for social media influencers.

Hope’s social media account stated she was residing with her father, Christopher John Hope, during the same year that details of a custody dispute around her were made public.
