Lionel Dahmer told son Jeffrey Dahmer in prison phone calls ‘You are just like me’

The recorded phone calls from prison between Jeffrey Dahmer and his father, Lionel have been revealed for the first time where the latter told his son, who is also a convicted serial killer, that he was just like him.

The tapes of the recordings were released as part of Fox Nation’s new four-part docuseries, My Son Jeffrey: The Dahmer Family Tapes, which focuses on Dahmer’s relationship with his father as well as other aspects of his life.

“The Jeffrey Dahmer case has captivated the public for over three decades and now with these exclusive tapes released for the very first time, viewers will hear from Dahmer in his own words and get insight into his relationship with his father,” Fox Nation President Jason Klarman said in a statement.

In the docuseries, the conversations between Jeffrey and Lionel have been described as “a father looking for answers,” according to Fox News.

“What was the very first fantasy, I was wondering that you could remember having which you thought to yourself was kind of odd or disturbing?” Lionel asked Dahmer in one recording. “I had weird thoughts too, in my childhood. You’re just like me, Jeff.”

However, not every recording was Lionel trying to understand his son’s mind better. Some of them even had Jeffrey confessing to certain crimes. One such recording had him recall what he had put in a box during one of the three murders he committed in his grandmother’s home, where he would strangle and dismember the victims in the basement.

“Remember when you visited grandma? Remember that small, one-by-one square foot box?” Lionel asked his father, per Daily Mail. “You know what was in it, don’t you? The mummified head and genitals of the last victim at the West Allis location.”

Lionel can be heard saying that he believed Dahmer was hiding pornography magazines in the box. “I never thought anything more than that,” Lionel said.
