Lisandro Martínez (born 18 January 1998) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays primarily as a centre-back for Premier League club Manchester United and the Argentina national team. Martínez played for Argentina at the under-20 and under-23 levels before making his senior debut in March 2019. He was a member of the Argentina teams that won the Copa América in 2021 and the Fina’s national team. Martínez made one appearance in the 2021 Copa América, which Argentina won. He was an unused substitute in Argentina’s 3-0 Finalissima victory over Italy.
On July 16, 2022, it was announced that Manchester United had reached an agreement with Ajax to sign Martínez. Martínez signed a five-year contract with the club on July 27, completing the transfer. His transfer fee was reported to be between £47 million and £49 million, plus an additional £8.5 million in add-ons.
