The death of LottaCash, another musician killed by gun violence, has left the hip-hop community in grief. Lotta Cash Desto, a new rapper, was reportedly slain in a drive-by shooting on Saturday at about 2:40 a.m. near the Chimney Rocks area.
Lotta Cash Desto was mentored by Lil Uzi Vert, who had a large underground fanbase in Houston’s rap scene. Her brand-new hit, “Free Slatt,” was released last week. She also released “Lunchroom,” a collaboration with Lil Uzi Vert, last month.
Multiple rounds were fired at the occupants in the SUV, and the driver allegedly died on the spot. The female passenger was transferred to a local hospital for treatment while the male patient was driven by a private car. Because of the gunshot fragments discovered in the automobile, Houston police think there was more than one gunman.
Since then, the Houston Police Department has conducted an extensive investigation, but no motive for the murder has been uncovered.
