Rapper Lotta Cash Desto, a native of Memphis, was shot and killed early on September 24 in Houston, Texas. According to Assistant Chief Wyatt Martin of the Houston Police Department, officers responded to reports of a shooting on September 24 at around 2:39 a.m. in the 5500 block of Richmond Avenue. Officers arrived at the scene and moved in the direction of a silver Porsche SUV that had two female victims inside that was moving west. Both of the occupants appeared to have been shot several times.
Desto, the driver of the Porsche SUV, succumbed to her wounds and was declared dead at the scene. The second female passenger was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening wounds and is expected to recover, according to the police. Authorities are still trying to figure out what happened. They currently lack leads, explanations, and descriptions. “At this time, we don’t know what the motivation was. It could be irate driving. The motivation might have been a robbery. We simply don’t know, and the information we currently have is insufficient for us to make any inferences, according to Assistant Chief Martin. The placement of the rounds inside the SUV, in HPD’s opinion, indicates that there may have been more than one shooter.
The police are currently speaking with a number of witnesses in order to gather the information that will lead them in the right direction. They are asking anyone with information to come forward.
