Lucas Tolentino Coelho de Lima, popularly known by his stage name Lucas Paquetá, is a Brazilian professional footballer, who was born on August 27, 1997. He currently plays as an attacking midfielder for Premier League club West Ham United as well as the Brazil national team.
Paquetá was promoted to Flamengo’s senior team in March 2016, and signed a contract extension through 2020. Lucas made his starting debut in the Rio de Janeiro State League, in a 3-1 victory over Bangu on March 5, 2016.
On February 19, 2017, Paquetá scored his first goal as a professional in a 4-0 victory over Madureira at the Estádio Raulino de Oliveira in Volta Redonda.
He scored in the 2017 Copa do Brasil final’s 1-1 draw with Cruzeiro at Maracan Stadium as well as the 2017 Copa Sudamericana final’s 1-1 tie with Independiente. Flamengo lost both games and finished second in the competition behind their rivals.
He was recognised as the finest Flamengo player in the Copa Sudamericana championship game. He was regarded by supporters as Flamengo’s best player as the year came to an end, along with Juan.
