He is the father of Luke Rowe. Luke rode a bike for the first time at age 3. Luke’s legs didn’t take long to grow long enough to reach the pedals on the rear of a Tandem (with “kiddy cranks”), giving father Courtney the go-ahead to purchase the family two Tandems.
On one, Luke and Courtney would ride, and on the other, their mother Alyson and brother Matt.
The two tandems would leave for weekend rides in South Wales, with the rare travel outside of the region, such as visits to the Tour de France in 1998 and Paris Roubaix in 2000.
Luke advanced through a number of UK clubs and teams, including Cardiff Ajax CC, Maindy Flyers, Glendene CC, Recycling.co.uk, and Rapha Condor under the guidance of Courtney his father.
Simon Richardson, a paralympian, is coached by his father Courtney Rowe.
