Who is Mahsa Amini?
Mahsa Amini also known as Jina Amini or Zhina Amini is a 22-year-old Iranian woman who was arrested on 13 September,2022 by the Guidance Patrol who are the morality police of Iran’s Law Enforcement Command at the entrance of Shahid Haghani Expressway while she was in Tehran with her family on the accusation of violating the Government standards on the wearing of hijab (the wearing of an Islamic headscarf) which is a mandatory dress code for women in accordance with Islamic standards. Mahsa Amini was taking into the custody of the moral security agency and after her apprehension per police reports had a heart attack and fell into a coma from which she died two days later but her autopsy reveals that the cause of death was a skull fracture and also accounts of eyewitnesses said something different which led to a series of protests in Iran.
