Manuel Charlton, who is popularly known as Manny Charlton, was born on 25 July 1941 in La Línea, Andalusia, Spain. He was a musician who played the guitar and was also a vocalist.

He played the hard rock, heavy metal, blues rock and pop-rock genres of music.

Manny Charlton was a founding member of the Nazareth band, a Scottish hard rock band.

He was the lead guitarist of the band from 1968 to 1990.

Manny Charlton released solo songs like Drool, Bravado, Americana Deluxe and many others. He also released a single in 2012 with the Manny Charlton band titled It Does Something.

Manny Charlton gave up the ghost on July 5, 2022. His family confirmed the news of his death but did not state the cause of his death.

However, it is rumoured that he died as a result of a health issue or of a natural cause because of his age.
