Kelly Piquet was born in the city of Homburg in Germany. Her parents are Nelson Piquet, a three-time Formula One World Champion from Brazil, and Sylvia Tamsma, a Dutch model.
Piquet spent the majority of her childhood in the south of France. When she was 12 years old, she moved to Brazil and resided there until she was 15 years old.
Piquet then returned to France for another year before heading to England to attend a boarding school. At the age of 17, she returned to Brazil to finish her senior year of high school.
Piquet attended Marymount Manhattan College in New York, where he majored in International Relations with a focus on political science and economics.
