An accomplished motorcycle racer descended from the famous Northern Irish Dunlop racing family. He competed mostly in Tourist Trophy races at the Isle of Man TT and finished on the podium more than a dozen times.
He’s competed for BMW and Yamaha. While he was preparing for the North West 200, where he won his first 250cc race, his father passed away. At the Manx GP on Friday, August 31, Dunlop took part in the Classic Superbike race.
At the 2012 Manx Grand Prix, he won the Classic Superbike event. Following his debut and victory in the 2006 Newcomers MGP race, this was his third Manx Grand Prix victory and sixth overall victory on the Mountain Course. Dunlop worked in the pits for a team in the 600 Junior Race for the duration of the two-week 2012 Manx GP.
