Mickey Gilley whose full name is Mickey Leroy Gilley was born on March 9, 1936. Mickey Gilley was reportedly dead yesterday May 7, 2022. He was known to be a songwriter and a musician.

His genre is country music. Although he specialized in country music, Mickey before his death incorporated pop-friendly sound in the year the 1980s. He has topped the country charts and the pop charts as well for some time.

One of his biggest hits is “Room Full Rose’s”, “Don’t the Girl’s All Get Prettier at Closing Time,” and “Stand By Me”. He was known to have charted 42 singles on the US top 40 county chart.

Gilley was born and raised in Natchez, Mississippi. He was known to have lived in the shadow of cousin Jerry Lee Lewis who happens to be a successful rock and roll singer.

Gilley Commenced his recording career in the year 1974. According to the reports he did record a song that he did not attach as a fun record. The song was titled, “Room Full of Roses” which was written by Tim Spencer.

In his later career days, he along with his cousins were inducted into the Delta Music Museum Hall Of Fame which is in Ferriday, Louisiana.

Jeff Wagner, the Mayor of Pasadena, Texas, broke the terrible news of Gilley’s death. Mickey died a few days after cancelling tours due to failing health and limited energy.
