American actor Miles Alexander Teller (born February 20, 1987) is best known for his roles as jazz drummer Andrew Neiman in Whiplash and pilot Lt. Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw in Top Gun: Maverick.
After making his debut in a feature film in 2010, Teller gained notoriety for his major performances opposite Shailene Woodley in the coming-of-age drama The Spectacular Now (2013) and the Divergent movie trilogies (2014)–2016. His role in the critically acclaimed drama Whiplash in 2014, for which he won an Oscar, served as his big break and helped him become well-known. He established himself as a leading man after Whiplash, acting in various love comedies, the superhero film Fantastic Four (2015), and the biographical films War Dogs and Bleed for This (2016), among others.
