At her early age, Mimi was a musician. She was adding harmonies to her sister’s guitar playing and singing. The two sister sung along to old country and gospel records that their parents played for them.
Mimi was married to a fellow musician known as Alan Sparhawk who she established the Low band with. The couple have two kids together. The children are named Hollis and Cyrus. At the time of her death, Mimi was 55 years old Mimi Parker and her husband made use of brushes rather than drumsticks to play a basic drum set that only included a snare, cymbal, and floor tom before creating the band named Low with bassist John Nichols in 1993. Mimi passed away from ovarian cancer. She was diagnosed with the disease in 2020 and Mimi died in 2022
