Bride price, bridewealth, or bride token, is money, property, or other form of wealth paid by a groom or his family to the family of the woman he will be married to or is just about to marry.
However, a lady called Chioma who’s a Microbiologist has come out to say that her bride price would have to be deposited in her bank account.
According to her, this is because when she was ‘suffering’ in her relationship, her uncles/family were not there to suffer with her. So why would they also enjoy her bride price with her as well?
Chioma tweeted; “My bride price will be paid to my bank account, because my uncles were not there when the relationship was showing me pepper”.
