According to VICE, the murder occurred in a crowd with security present, and Qader received fatal stab wounds to her neck and body. According to Egyptian news site Najum Masria, the victim’s father stated that the suspect harassed her on several occasions because he was disappointed she wouldn’t marry him.
The suspect has been identified as “Mohammed A,” according to Al-Falah Al-Youm, and he informed a prosecutor that Qader had banned him on social media multiple times.
