Christina Ciminella (later Wynonna Judd), Naomi Judd’s first child, was born when she was 18 years old. After the birth of her daughter Ashley (April 1968), who went on to become a film and stage actress, and the end of her marriage to Michael Ciminella, Judd raised both daughters as a single parent, first enrolling in nursing school at California’s College of Marin while living in nearby Lagunitas, California, and later embarking on a successful singing career with daughter Wynonna.
