She and her daughter Wynonna formed the country music duo the Judds in 1983. They were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame the day after her death in 2022.
Naomi Judd’s first kid, Wynonna Judd, was born when she was 18 years old. After the birth of her daughter Ashley, and the dissolution of her marriage to Michael Ciminella, Judd raised both girls as single moms.
While residing in nearby Lagunitas, California, she first attended nursing school at California’s College of Marin and then launched a successful singing career with her daughter Wynonna.
Naomi Judd’s death reason
Judd had been depressed for quite some time. A decade before her death, her depression worsened, accompanied by anxiety, panic attacks, and suicidal ideation.
Judd’s medications, including lithium, caused him to experience emotionally painful side effects. Facial edema, alopecia, and tremors were among the symptoms.
She committed suicide on April 30, 2022, near Nashville, Tennessee, at the age of 76. Her daughters announced her death on Twitter, and this is what they said: “Today was a tragic day for our sisters. We had to say goodbye to our lovely mother due to the disease of mental illness.”
