Naomi Judd was an American singer and actress who was born Diana Ellen Judd on January 11, 1946 and died on April 30, 2022.

 

In 1983, she and her daughter Wynonna created the Judds, a country music duo. The day following her death in 2022, they were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

 

Wynonna Judd, Naomi Judd’s first child, was born when she was 18 years old. Judd raised both kids as a single mother after the birth of her daughter Ashley and the dissolution of her marriage to Michael Ciminella.

 

She completed nursing school at California’s College of Marin and subsequently established a successful singing career with her daughter Wynonna while living in neighboring Lagunitas, California.

For a long time, Judd had been depressed. Her depression deteriorated a decade before she died, accompanied by anxiety, panic attacks, and suicidal ideation.

 

Lithium, one of Judd’s prescriptions, led her to have emotionally terrible side effects. Symptoms included facial edema, baldness, and tremors.
