Johnson was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs with the 259th overall pick in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He was released on August 30, 2022, and the practice squad signed him the following day. On September 28, 2022, he was promoted to the active roster. After graduating from high school, Johnson was not listed as a recruit by 247Sports.com. However, he chose to study in communications and went on to the Marshall football team.
