Neil is known to be an Australia rules footballer who was known to have played for the Carlton “Neil was perfectly located with impeccable timing, three premierships in 50 games, and he was a significant player in every one of them,” said one Gallagher.

Neil Chandler was known to be a reserve in the team 1968 and 1970 flags but was able to earn a spot where he played as a starter in the year 1972 playing on a half-forward flank.

It was known that midway getting into the 1974 season, he was known to have crossed to ST. Kilda before he returned at the end of the year.

One Adrian Gallagher who was a 165-game Carlton meanderer who also hailed from the South Gippsland municipality made some declarative remarks on Chandler.

“Neil was a ruck-wanderer type and ‘Barass’ cherished him. He played the game in the correct way and he was a great guy. He was an extraordinary guy from the sticks, straight off the ranch, and he and I generally preferred to discuss the neighbourhood footy back home. He was constantly estimated and he was very laidback.”
