Aaron Rodgers made a tragic debut as the 53rd starting quarterback for the New York Jets on Monday Night Football against the Buffalo Bills. The former Green Bay Packers standout only suffered what the Jets fear may be a season-ending Achilles injury on the fourth snap of the game.

Before the game had even lasted five minutes, he was forced to leave early due to an injury and without completing a pass. The medical team had to utilize a cart to transport him from the field to the locker room, which was bad news for the Jets.

Leonard Floyd made a tackle on Rodgers during the opening frame of his widely anticipated Jets debut. Rodgers indicated he was hurt by pointing toward the sideline and finally sitting down, even though the impact didn’t initially appear to be severe.

Several NFL stars reacted to the tragic injury which cut short Aaron Rodgers highly anticipated debut for the New York Jets against the Buffalo Bills.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes reacted to Rodgers’ injury on X. He wrote, “Hate that, man… Praying for the best 🙏🏽”

Former NFL player Ryan Clark also reacted to the injury and wrote, “Nah look more Achilles now. Hope I’m wrong”

Jets WR Allen Lazard also said, “Tough obviously. … It’s almost comical with how this off-season played and for him to go down without completing a pass.”

The Jets staged a significant transaction this offseason to acquire Rodgers. Four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers, who spent many productive years with the Green Bay Packers, was switching to just his second NFL team. The Jets were thrilled by the prospect of having Rodgers assist them in ending one of the longest postseason droughts in NFL history.
