He was born in the city of San Diego, California on October 8, 1980. He stayed with his maternal grandfather and his dad. He was a part of a street gang when he was living in Lincoln Park’s Bay Vista Housing Projects.
He was a graduate of Monte Vista High School in Spring Valley and he was the president of the African Student Coalition and was also good on the field and tracks.
