On what would have been the late rapper’s 37th birthday, rapper Nipsey Hussle was given a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday, three years after his death.
The star is in front of Amoeba Music on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles and was unveiled in a ceremony on Monday afternoon.
The rapper from Victory Lap captured one of those moments just before he passed away. Nipsey is shown next to the young girl while posing endearingly with the child, who is supposedly a fan. He is wearing a white T-shirt, a white durag, and red shorts. The picture was taken in front of his Marathon Clothing business, where he eventually died from gunshot wounds. Though it’s only one of several photos Nipsey the Great took for with his fans and supporters in his Slauson Avenue neighborhood, many have since praised it as the best representation of his spirit as a father, a community activist, and a rapper.
