Olivia Breen was born on 26th July 1996 by an emergency caesarean section. She contracted a Meningitis type illness at birth which left her in the Special Care Baby Unit at Guildford Hospital for a month.
She is currently a Welsh Paralympian athlete. Furthermore, she competes mainly in T38 sprint and F38 long jump events.
In the year 2012, she qualified for the 2012 Summer Paralympics. She was selected for the T38 100 m and 200 m sprint and additionally a part of the T35-38 women’s relay team.
Breen, who has spastic paralysis, started racing while still in grade school. She was given her T38 classification in January 2012. This allowed her to be brought into contention for Paralympic selection. In June 2012 she competed within the IPC Athletics European Championships in Stadskanaal within the Netherlands. She then won the bronze in both the 100 m and 200 m sprints.
She has as well represented Wales at both the 2014 and 2018 Commonwealth Games. She won gold within the long jump at the Gold Coast games in the year 2018. Breen was born in England to a Welsh mother and Irish father.
