She has written multiple cookbooks, hosted several seasons of Top Chef, and is well-known for her love of food. In addition to a variety of spices, teas, and bakeware, Padma has her own collection of jewellery that is inspired by India.
Lakshmi has provided style-related articles for the American edition of Vogue and a syndicated column for The New York Times at the editor Anna Wintour’s request. She also finished a style column writing assignment from editor Glenda Bailey for Harper’s Bazaar (US and UK editions).
Lakshmi’s 1999 collection of brief thoughts and exotic recipes, titled Easy Exotic, took home the Best First Book honour at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards in Versailles. Her second cookbook, Tangy, Tart, Hot and Sweet, came out on October 2, 2007, and when it was reissued in March 2021, Apple chose it as one of the Best Books of 2021.
