Cavalli is largely regarded as one of contemporary Italy’s most prominent poets. Einaudi’s first collection of poems, Le mia poesie non cambieranno il mondo, was released in 1974.

Cavalli has written two radio dramas for the public radio station SAI, as well as translated Shakespeare’s tragedies A Summer Night’s Dream and The Tempest, as well as Wilde’s Salomé and Molière’s Amphitryon.

Her award was the Campiello Premio a la Selección Especial del Jurado (Campiello Award for the Special Jury Selection).
