Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba (born January 198) is a Burkinabé military officer who served as interim president of Burkina Faso from 31 January 2022 to 30 September 2022, when Damiba was deposed in a coup.

Damiba himself had only taken power eight months before, on January 24, 2022, when he deposed President Roch Marc Christian Kaboré in a coup. Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba received his diploma from the École militaire de Paris.

Damiba met Mamady Doumbouya, who would go on to become president of Guinea, while he was there for training. Damiba has a master’s degree in criminology from the Paris-based CNAM as well as a defense expert certification in management, command, and strategy.

Damiba held training exercises in the US between 2010 and 2020.

Damiba is the commander of the third military region, which includes Ouagadougou, Manga, Koudougou, and Fada N’gourma. Damiba was a member of the Regiment of Presidential Security, Blaise Compaoré’s former presidential guard.

Damiba resigned from the RSP in 2011 following an army mutiny. According to reports from the time in Burkinabe media, Damiba testified in the 2019 trial of the conspirators behind a coup in Burkina Faso in 2015 that briefly toppled a transitional government.
