British politician, Penny Mordaunt, has served as Leader of the House of Commons and Lord President of the Council since September 2022. A member of the Conservative Party, she has been a Member of Parliament (MP) for Portsmouth North since May 2010.

Mordaunt was appointed Leader of the House of Commons and Lord President of the Council. Four days later, as Lord President of the Council, she presided over the Accession Ceremony of King Charles III. During a debate in the House of Commons, Mordaunt deputized for Liz Truss to receive a question from Leader of the Labour Party Keir Starmer.

Penny Mordaunt is very passionate when it comes to advocating for people with disability, so one will think she has a disability herself, but after going through the internet it seems she does not. Mordaunt was Minister of State at the Department for International Trade from 16 September 2021 to 6 September 2022. Mordaunt was the department’s ministerial disability champion.

Mordaunt was 15 when her mother died of breast cancer and, following her twin brother in leaving school, she became her younger brother Edward’s primary caregiver.The following year her father was also diagnosed with cancer, from which he recovered. To pay her way through her studies, Mordaunt worked in a Johnson & Johnson factory, and became a magician’s assistant to Will Ayling
