Petteri Koponen was born on 13th April 1988. Petteri is a professional basketball player. Koponen celebrated his coming out in the summer of 2006. The Finnish squad was led by him to third place by just one game lost during the FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship B-level competition. He was then elevated to the Finnish senior men’s national team. He played like a pro and had no fear as he had plenty of opportunities to play. He scored 19 points and dished out 7 assists in his greatest game, which was against the basketball team of the tiny nation of Luxembourg.
In the summer of 2007, Koponen played a significant role in the Finnish men’s national team. Finland defeated the Romanian national basketball team in a decisive game by a score of 111-61 to secure a place in European Division A. With the national team, Koponen averaged 10.6 points, 2.7 assists, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.3 steals in 21.3 minutes per game. Koponen made the announcement that he would stay with the Honka Playboys for another season just a few days before the start of the national team campaign.
