President Nana Addo has created a COVID-19 fund. He said in his 4th National address on Coronavirus updates that this fund has been put in place to help alleviate problems that are resulting because of the COVID-19.

Nana Addo said the funds would be managed by an Independent Board of Trustees and would be chaired by Justice Sophia Akufo.

This fund is meant to receive contributions and donations from the public which would be used for relief purposes.

Setting an example, President Nana Addo donated 3 months of his salary — from March to June to this fund.

He noted that he directed the Controller and Accountant General, Mr. Eugene Ofosuhene not to pay him for the next 3 months but rather send his salary to the COVID-19 fund.
