A 20-year-old understudy at Purdue College was killed in his apartment early Wednesday and his flat mate was captured for what Indiana police called an “unwarranted and silly” murder.

Varun Manish Chheda, 20, a senior studying information science, was found dead in his room at McCutcheon Corridor in West Lafayette after the suspect, 22-year-old Ji Min “Jimmy” Sha, called 911 to report the killing at 12:44 a.m., grounds police expressed, as per Diary and Messenger.

Purdue College Head of Police Lesley Weite said during a press preparation that Sha, a lesser studying network protection, was immediately arrested on a charge of homicide in Chheda’s passing.

Weite said the suspect is a worldwide understudy from South Korea.

The understudy died of “various sharp power horrendous wounds” and the way of death was a murder, as indicated by fundamental post-mortem examination results detailed by NBC.

Weite didn’t remark on a potential intention behind the killing yet said she accepts “this was unwarranted and silly.”

The last post-mortem discoveries are forthcoming toxicology, the coroner’s office told NBC.
