Mikhail Gorbachev’s wife, Raisa Gorbacheva, was a Soviet and Russian activist who lived from 5 January 1932 to 20 September 1999. In the Altai area of Siberia’s city of Rubtsovsk, Titarenko was born. She was the oldest of Maxim Andreyevich Titarenko’s three children. He was a railway engineer from Chernihiv, Ukraine, and Alexandra Petrovna Porada was from Veseloyarsk, Siberia.
After graduating, she moved to Stavropol in southern Russia, the home region of her husband, Mikhail Gorbachev, whom she wed in September 1953. She lectured on Marxist-Leninist ideology there and presented and successfully defended her sociological research on kolkhoz living. On January 6, 1957, she gave birth to a daughter named Irina Mikhailovna.
Titarenko raised money for initiatives that treat pediatric blood cancer, promote fresh talent, and preserve Russian cultural heritage.

Raisa Gorbacheva received a leukaemia diagnosis from the Institute of Haematology RAMS in July 1999. Under the direction of renowned haematologist Professor Thomas Büchner, she underwent treatment for two months. But on September 20, she passed away at the age of 67.
