Ray Coyle started life as a potato farmer until he started Largo foods. He bought the Tayto brand in 2006 and started creating the Tayto park in 2008.

In 2010, the park was completed and officially opened. The Tayto park after its official opening has had about 5 million visits so far.

Ray Coyle had two children with his wife Roz Cole. He had a son and a daughter, called Charles Coyle and Natalya Coyle respectively.
