On September 9, 1992, Richard Peter “Rick” Lovato Jr., a long snapper for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League, was born. Rick Lovato was an undrafted free agent who was signed by the Chicago Bears in 2015. He has also played for the Green Bay Packers and the Washington Redskins.

The Green Bay Packers signed Rick Lovato on December 22, 2015, following starter Brett Goode’s season-ending knee injury. Before signing, he worked at the Lincroft, New Jersey, sandwich shop his father and uncle owned. As the first Old Dominion alumnus to take part in an NFL game during the regular season against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 16, Lovato made history by snapping each punt and field goal.

With Rick Lovato’s educational background, he played collegiate football while attending Old Dominion. At Middletown High School South in Middletown, New Jersey, he first began long snapping.
