The 34-year-old singer and songwriter Rihanna gave a performance on Sunday at Glendale, Arizona’s State Farm Stadium. Rihanna stood out from her little army of dancers by dressing entirely in red in contrast to their all-white attire.

Despite the song’s intention, Rihanna’s participation at the Super Bowl, which was her first live performance since 2019, was almost probably underpaid.

Where Have You Been, Only Girl (In the World), Rude Boy, Work, Wild Thoughts, Pour It Up, All of the Lights, and Run This Town were among the songs on the setlist.

Rihanna is the fourth-most successful performer in history with 14 hit songs that reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Many fans had hoped that the Super Bowl performance would include brand-new music because pop musicians usually use the NFL’s platform to promote a new album or tour.

Super Bowl headliners have in the past requested that other performers share the spotlight with them. For instance, in 2020 during Jennifer Lopez and Shakira’s joint performance, Bad Bunny and J Balvin made an appearance; in 2019, Maroon 5 brought Big Boi and Travis Scott as guests; and in 2016, Coldplay’s performance was notably overshadowed by BeyoncĂ© and Bruno Mars.

Rihanna has collaborated on popular songs with artists like Drake, Eminem, Jay-Z, and Kendrick Lamar, but this year she was the centre of attention.
