Students of the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) are protesting the university’s decision to disallow students who have not paid up their school fees from writing their end of semester exams.

TV3’s Etornam Sey reports of a “nasty situation” on the campus with “heavy police presence” to restore calm.

While some of the students say they have paid 80% of the fees, some also say they have paid up the full fees but could not access the online registration system to register.

But the university would not allow any student who has not paid up their fees to sit for Sunday’s papers.

Clad in black and red, some of the students stormed the campus in protest, demanding to write the exams, maintaining it is their “right”.
