In May, Rodrygo proved his worth by netting two goals for Real Madrid in a 2-1 triumph over Osasuna in the 2023 Copa del Rey final, resulting in Real Madrid’s 20th title in the competition. Real Madrid further demonstrated their faith in Rodrygo’s abilities by extending his contract on November 2, 2023, with a new expiration date set for June 30, 2028.
On the international stage, Rodrygo’s talent was recognized early on when he was called up to represent Brazil under-17s in the 2017 Montaigu Tournament. His impressive performances led to his first call-up to the Brazil senior team in November 2019, where he participated in the Superclásico de las Américas against rivals Argentina in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Although Brazil suffered a 1-0 loss on November 15, Rodrygo made a notable impact when he replaced Willian for the final 20 minutes of the match. Rodrygo’s skills and contributions earned him a place in the squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, as announced on November 7, 2022.
