Roger Federer Parents: Robert Federer, Lynette Federer

Roger Federer’s parents are Robert, who is 73, and Lynette, who is 67 years old. Lynette is from South Africa, and Robert is German-Swiss. When Robert immigrated to South Africa in his 20s in 1970, they became friends.

Roger was born on August 8, 1981, and Robert and Lynnette were married in 1973. They taught Roger how to play tennis, but they argued throughout that he was born with talent and was never coerced.

Robert is in charge of the Roger Federer Foundation, which provides financial support for initiatives in the fields of sports and education in Nations with high rates of infant mortality. When Lynette was younger, she played field hockey, netball, and track. It’s uncertain if Robert participated in sports as well.

Today, they both play tennis and golf, and Robert readily acknowledges Lynette’s superior skill.
