Question

Is it permissible to announce the death of someone who died in the village on a board that is placed in the mosque for that purpose?.

Praise be to Allah.

Firstly:

Announcing a death in a manner that resembles the kind of
death announcements that are forbidden is not permissible. As for announcing
it among his relatives and acquaintances so that they can attend the funeral
prayer for him and attend his burial, that is permissible, and does not come
under the heading of the kind of death announcements that are forbidden,
because when the Negus died in Abyssinia, the Prophet (blessings and peace
of Allah be upon him) told the Muslims of his death and offered the funeral
prayer for him.

Secondly:

A board should not be placed in the mosque for the purpose of
announcing deaths and the like, because the mosques were not built for that.
