Question

Is it permissible for the one who is treating the sick person by reciting Qur’aan [the raaqi] to beat or throttle him and talk to the jinn?.

Praise be to Allah.

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allaah have mercy on him). He used to address the jinni and throttle and beat him until he departed. But going to extremes in such matters as we hear about from some reciters is something that is not appropriate. End quote.
