Ruth Neave: Who is Rikki Neave’s mum and where is she now?

Rikki was born to Mrs. Ruth Neave( his mother) but there is no information provided about his dad. Rikki Neave was murdered at a very young age, six(6) years to be Previse. His alleged killer who was aged 13 when Rikki disappeared on November 28, 1994, was found guilty at the old bailey in London ( April 21).

His mother, Ruth herself was jailed in 1996 when she admitted child cruelty but was never guilty of killing her son.

What happened to Ruth Neave and where is she now?

Yes, the aforementioned question will pop up right after reading the overview. Ruth reported her son’s disappearance at 6 pm on Monday, November 1994. After having breakfast, Rikki left for school at 9:30 am but never reported to the school. Ruth’s Neighbours said they saw Rikki accompany James Watson that morning when he left home.

Police officers from Cambridgeshire turned up at Ruth’s home on the Redmile walk at 6:17 pm and they found Rikki’s Naked body lying in a star-shaped nearby woodland the following day.

A postmortem result showed that Rikki was strangled by zipping off his anorak hood. 13-year-old Watson gave a false account to the police on December 5.

On January 19, 1995, Ruth was arrested for suspicion of murder.

In October 1996, a jury at Northampton crown court unanimously acquitted Ruth of Child murder but she pleaded guilty to child cruelty and was jailed for seven years.

Upon her release, she went back to Cambridgeshire where she met her husband. She together with her husband and the Editor of Camp times newspaper campaigned for the police to reopen her son’s murder case.

Press Conference followed, and police looked at DNA evidence on Rikki’s clothing which matched samples provided by Watson – and a Crown Prosecution Service lawyer decided in 2019 that Watson should face prosecution.

The murderer was charged in 2020, and a trial began in February this year. A jury in London debated for 36 hours and 31 minutes before conveying their guilty judgment.
