It was during the 1969 Alcatraz occupation that she first connected with Native American activists. Littlefeather’s real name is Marie Louise Cruz, and she was born in Salinas, California on November 14th, 1946.
Littlefeather was a founding member of the “Red Earth Indian Theater Company” in Seattle. At the 2013 American Indian Film Festival, he was given an Eagle Spirit Award (Honorary).
