Littlefeather has had cancer, internal bleeding, and her lungs have fallen in on themselves. When she was 4, she got tuberculosis and had to stay in a hospital with an oxygen tent.
Sacheen tried to kill herself and was in the hospital for a year. In 1974, she said that Marlon Brando sent her to a doctor, which helped her get better, so she gave the Oscar speech to thank him.
Sacheen collapsed when she was 29. After she got better, she got a degree in holistic health and nutrition with a focus on Native American medicine.
In 1991, Littlefeather had surgery for cancer. A report from 1999 says that she had colon cancer in the 1990s.
In 2012, it was said that Littlefeather’s breast cancer had gone away. In an interview in 2021, she said that her disease had spread to her right lung and that she was about to die.
Littlefeather died on October 2, 2022, in the city of Novato, California.
