Sam Dekker is an American professional basketball player for the turkey side of Bahçeşehir Koleji. He was born on May 6, 1994. Dekker played basketball for the Wisconsin Badgers in college. After finishing college with a championship game run in the NCAA Tournament, Dekker was selected with the 18th overall pick in the 2015 NBA draft by the Houston Rockets.
In his senior year of college, Dekker was named Gatorade Player of the Year in Wisconsin. In 2012, he was named a Parade All-American, as well as AP first-team all-state and Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Mr. Basketball. He was Sheboygan Lutheran’s first-ever WIAA state champion. Dekker scored 40 points in the state championship game, including the game-winning three-point jumper with two seconds left.
