Bastien came up through the R.S.C. Anderlecht youth system. On 3 December 2014, he made his first team debut against K.R.C. Mechelen in the Belgian Cup, replacing Youri Tielemans after 79 minutes in a 4-1 home win.
Bastien was loaned to Avellino on August 31, 2015. He made his Irpinian debut against Modena on September 12, 2015, replacing Mariano Arini after 53 minutes. Bastien signed with Serie A club A.C. ChievoVerona on August 26, 2016, for a cost of €2.5 million from Anderlecht.
