Santiago González Torre, a Mexican professional tennis player, was born on February 24, 1983 (American Spanish pronunciation: [santjao onsales tore]).

His highest ATP singles and doubles rankings to date were 155 and 22, respectively, in May 2006 and March 2022, respectively. He’s won 18 ATP doubles championships.

In doubles, he and Donald Young advanced to the French Open final in 2017. In the Mixed division, he has also advanced to the finals of three other Grand Slam competitions, including the 2013 French Open and the 2014 and 2015 US Open.

González, who now has a record of 22-16, competes for Mexico in the Davis Cup tournament.

In partnership with fellow American Scott Lipsky, he captured the ATP World Tour 500 crown at the Barcelona Open in April 2011.

They ended the Bryan brothers’ 10-match winning streak by defeating them 5-7, 6-2, [12-10].

Additionally, they triumphed over the doubles pairs of Daniel Nestor & Max Mirnyi and Jürgen Melzer 6-3, 6-2 and 6-4, respectively. He shared seven titles in total with Lipsky.
